WARRENGSBURG, Mo. -- Students got a special treat for showing up for an 8 a.m. macroeconomics class at the University of Central Missouri.
President Charles Ambrose and the Warrensburg school's provost served a pancake breakfast Wednesday to about 50 students in the class. Ambrose and the provost also left students with small bags of university memorabilia with the inscription, "Class at 8 a.m. Challenge Accepted!"
The event was designed to stress the benefits of attending class regularly. It's part of the school's effort to boost the number of students earning degrees in four years.
Another event is being planned for later this spring.
