The course would qualify for contact training hours required for licensed day care providers, and also counts toward three hours of college credit.

The cost of the class is $273 plus the cost of the textbook. The registration deadline is Dec. 1.

Barbara Hammerli, an instructor at the University of Missouri, will teach the course. She has been a teacher in part-day and full-day child care and also has been a director of a large child-care program.
