The Southeast Missouri State University Concert Band will perform its final spring concert at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Academic Auditorium.
The band, under the direction of Barry Bernhardt, director of activity bands, will open with "Symphony No. 1: In Memorium Dresden" by Daniel Bukvich.
"Chorale and Shaker Dance" by John Zdechlic will be conducted by Melissa Cummins.
"Journey to the Unknown," written by Southeast alumna Joseph Pappas, will be the premier performance. Pappas dedicated the piece to the concert band and Bernhardt.
"Variations on a Kitchen Sink" by Don Gillis will feature several members of the music department and eight other players who will perform using kitchen utensils.
"Carnival of Venice" by Giulio Briccialdi will feature a solo by Paul Thompson, Southeast instructor of flute.
University students, faculty and staff will be admitted to the concert free with identification. General admission tickets are $4 for adults and $2 for children. For more information call (314) 651-2141.
