Southeast Missouri State University's art department will offer four summer workshops besides a Russian art workshop offered this month.
Experimental drawing, a two-dimensional, multimedia studio workshop, is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays July 23 to Aug. 9.
The workshop will allow students to invent and discover new personal drawing solutions through experimentation with non-traditional drawing media and methods. Some previous experience with drawing and color are required.
Water color flowers will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays, July 2-29. Various assignments will be given stressing the building of compositional skills in water color media using flowers as subjects.
Computer assisted typographic design will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. weekdays July 16 to Aug. 2. The workshop will introduce the use of computers in creative typographic applications, including developing reports and newsletters.
Undergraduates will focus on the basics of typography and page design. Graduate students will explore advanced applications.
Studio Loom Weaving will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays June 11-28. It will deal with the basic techniques of weaving.
