Awards winners at the 1995 Foreign Language Fair held April 8 at Southeast Missouri State University have been announced by the University's Department of Foreign Language.
More than 400 students studying foreign languages at 14 high schools and junior high schools in the region had the opportunity to test their skills at the event. Students competed in a number of events in French, Spanish and German.
Area winners were:
Extemporaneous Prose Reading (Spanish)

Recitation of a Literary Passage (Spanish)
Connie Backfisch, Level 2, Thomas W. Kelly High School; Christine Monier, Level 4, St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Perryville; Sabrina Gibbar, Level 5, Cape Girardeau Central High School.
Written Proficiency (French)
Becca Lewis, Level 4, Cape Girardeau Central High School.
Construction Models - Individual - Spanish
Michael Nations, St. Vincent de Paul Parish, Perryville.
Construction Models - Group - Spanish
