Universal Physique Gym has added an indoor sports center to its operation at 24 S. Minnesota St. in Cape Girardeau.
"The sports center includes a baseball batting cage, golf driving range and putting area and a basketball adjustable goal area," said Doug Friese, owner of the operation. "We have also added various video games.
"This is a unique set-up which links together weight training and different sporting activities, all under one roof."
Universal Gym consists of various weight-lifting machines, cardiovascular equipment, tanning beds, sauna and locker room facilities.
"We have trainers available to design weight training programs to meet individual needs," said Friese.
One-year memberships for the gym are now being offered at reduced prices until May 9 to celebrate the new indoor sports center, noted Friese.
"You don't have to be a member to participate in the sporting activities, but prices are lower for members," said Friese.
Universal Gym was opened last August by Doug and Lisa Friese, owners of Universal Physique Fitness and Racquet Center, 505 S. Mount Auburn Road.
