The United Way of Southeast Missouri and the Volunteer Intergenerational Center are seeking nominations for the 19th annual community volunteer recognition awards. Recipients should demonstrate outstanding and innovative volunteer efforts in the Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Scott City, Perryville and other Cape County communities. Nominees for this prestigious award include exemplary individuals or groups who volunteer in the community.
The volunteer recognition awards honor individuals and groups in the community that exemplify the volunteer role and make a significant impact on the lives of others locally.
Individuals may nominate themselves. Multiple nominations by an individual, organization or agency are permitted. Last year's winners are not eligible to win. If someone was nominated last year but did not receive an award, they are eligible for re-nomination.
A panel of qualified judges will select an outstanding volunteer for each category. The award luncheon is at 11:30 a.m. April 20 at the Drury Lodge.
Nomination forms can be requested through VIC, 2117 Broadway, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63701, no later than March 24. For more information, call 335-7555 or e-mail rsvpvic@sbcglobal.net.
