Red Cross is one of 25 agencies in the area that receives funding from the Area Wide United Way, which is now in the midst of its annual fund-raising campaign.
As of Thursday, the campaign had raised about $330,000 or 45 percent of its goal of $750,000.
Nancy Jernigan, executive director of the Area Wide United Way, said the campaign is on track to meet the goal.
United Way funds 42 programs run by those 25 agencies. These programs fall into four categories: addressing emergency needs, such as Red Cross' Emergency Services; providing services to seniors; meeting special needs; and nurturing youth and family.
