The United Way of Southeast Missouri kicked off its Small Business Blitz Week recently.
Volunteers will be contacting small businesses in the community to offer opportunities to donate to the United Way 2005 campaign.
The 2005 campaign cabinet, chaired by Kathy Bertrand of The Bank of Missouri, has set this year's goal at $1,050,000.
The Patron Division, focusing on Individual/Retirees and small businesses, is co-chaired by Tracey Glenn, Cape Girardeau public information officer, and Jim Dufek with Southeast Missouri State University. Innovative ideas to recruit and connect with donors are being implemented including personalized DVD appeals.
The Small Business Blitz is focused on prospective new donors and will continue throughout the campaign with special emphasis during this week.
The United Way of Southeast Missouri is dedicated to making a measurable impact in our community by focusing on the root causes of the most serious problems. Anyone wanting ore information can visit the Web site www.unitedwayofsemo.org.
