UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN AT 12 PERCENT OF GOAL

The Area Wide United Way has begun its 1997 Mission Possible campaign with the highest goal ever, $550,000.

Over 12 percent of the goal, or $69,463, has been pledged thus far.

The United Way plans to contact all corporations, small businesses and individuals in the Cape Girardeau, Jackson and Scott City areas to involve them in the campaign.

Employee campaigns are being conducted in the three communities at Ameritech, Cape Girardeau County, Hardware Wholesalers, JCPenney, Lowe's, South East Missouri Bank, Southeast Missourian, Southwestern Bell and Union Electric. Other organizations will begin campaigns soon.
