CAPE GIRARDEAU - Police reported a 2-year-old boy was injured Wednesday afternoon when a car hit him after he ran out from behind a parked car while playing.
Mark Jackson of 534 South Hanover sustained evident, but not disabling injuries to his right leg, said police.
The boy was transported to Southeast Missouri Hospital for treatment.
Police said the accident occurred at Hanover and College, which is near the boy's home. It was reported at 2:15 p.m.
L.A. Barnett of 1114 Jefferson was the driver of the vehicle, a 1985 Pontiac Sunbird, police said. Authorities said Barnett had tried to stop the vehicle and avoid the accident.
Barnett was issued a summons for having no driver's license.
