A two-vehicle accident blocked one lane of traffic on Interstate 55 for about 20 minutes this morning in Cape Girardeau. The accident occurred at around 10:40 a.m. when a 2005 Volvo tractor trailer driven by David K. Leimer, 52, of Jackson was merging onto the interstate on the northbound lane near mile marker 92, according to Sgt. Kevin Orr of the Cape Girardeau Police Department. The trailer then separated from the Volvo, causing a 2007 GMC Sierra driven by Roger D. McNeely, 52, of Cape Girardeau to strike the rear of the trailer. Orr said neither driver sustained injuries and no charges have been filed.
