SIKESTON, Mo. -- Two Sikeston residents were arrested following an investigation into suspected drug activity.
Nyisha R. Owens, 29, and Darenick O. Washington, 22, were charged Friday with felony possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
They were arrested Thursday by Sikeston Department of Public Safety officers who served a search warrant at a home on Magnolia Street at about 3 p.m., according to a news release from department public information officer.
"A thorough search of the residence resulted in detectives locating a quantity of marijuana, a 9 mm pistol, a SKS assault rifle and a set of scales," McMillen said in the release.
Owens and Washington were in custody with a cash bond set at $25,000.
