SIKESTON, Mo. -- Two Sikeston residents were charged recently for cocaine and marijuana possession. Cora K. Looney, 24, and Mario Bean, 26, were both charged Friday with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of cocaine, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. The Sikeston Special Operations Team executed a search warrant at 7:30 a.m. Friday following complaints from neighbors and drug purchases from the residence in the last month, a release from the Sikeston Department of Public Safety stated. In addition to the drugs, a pit bull was also found tied in the backyard of the property with no food or water, the release stated. It was turned over to the Humane Society, and additional charges of animal abuse may be sought against the defendants. Bond was set at $50,000 for Looney and $60,000 for Bean.
