A fire at a Jackson home sent two people to the hospital Friday morning.

Fire broke out in a room at 111 E. Madison St. around 10:30 a.m. and sent two people to the hospital with burns. One victim was transported to St. Louis for treatment, Jackson Fire Department Capt. Curtis Sparks said.

Sparks said he didn't know the names of the victims or their conditions.

The fire caused smoke damage, but no major structural damage, Sparks said.

Sparks said the department doesn't know the cause of the fire but thinks it is accidental.
