Two Scott City residents were injured in a motor vehicle crash early Wednesday morning when their 2002 Trailblazer ran off County Road 323, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 5:20 a.m. Wednesday.

The vehicle was traveling westbound on the county road when it ran off the left side of the roadway and struck several trees. The driver, 43-year-old Sheryl J. Simpkins, suffered minor injuries, and the 15-year-old male passenger, Dalton J. Simpkins, was moderately injured. Both occupants were transported to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau for treatment.
