There are a lot of issues on Perry County's April ballot, but voters will only find two contested races when they head to the polls.

In Ward 1 in Perryville, incumbent Roger Prost faces challenger William D. Richardet.

And in Longtown, three people are running for two seats on the Board of Trustees: Wilbert Hacker, Roy Lohman and Darrell Tanz.

"These are the non-paying jobs," joked County Clerk Randy Taylor.

The other seats on school and municipal boards are uncontested.

In Perry County School District 32, incumbent Caroline Pontillas and newcomer Jeff Volkerding are running for two three-year terms.

And Tom Wesolek, who was appointed to fill an unexpired term last year, is running uncontested to complete that term.

In Altenburg School District 48, three incumbents are seeking re-election to three-year terms: Albert Boettcher Jr., Roger Schlicting and Caroline Littge.

In Perryville, Mayor Robert J. Miget, Collector Wilma Weinkein, City Marshal Eugene H. Besand and Municipal Judge Robert Hershey are all seeking new terms, as are the incumbent aldermen in Wards 2 and 3, Frank "Bill" Bergman and Paul R. "Butch" Flentge.

In Altenburg, incumbent Gregory Hecht is seeking re-election in Ward 1, and Robert Birk is seeking another term in Ward 2.

In Frohna, Mayor Marvin School is seeking re-election, and so are Ward 1 Alderman Dennis Hecht and Ward 2 Alderman Boyd E. France.

In Biehle, the Buchheits are running for office again. Rhonda Buchheit, Rudy Buchheit and Nick Buchheit are all seeking new terms on the Board of Trustees. "There's only 10 people in the village, and they're all related," Taylor said.
