Two people hurt in Scott County crash
Two people were seriously injured Monday morning in a one-car accident in Scott County. About 5 a.m., Elizabeth Phelps, 23, of Chaffee, Missouri, was driving a 2004 Jeep east on Route Z when she crossed the center line, overcorrected and slid off the right side of the road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. Two people were seriously injured Monday morning in a one-car accident in Scott County.
About 5 a.m., Elizabeth Phelps, 23, of Chaffee, Missouri, was driving a 2004 Jeep east on Route Z when she crossed the center line, overcorrected and slid off the right side of the road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report. The vehicle overturned, throwing the passenger, Dylan Hilburn, 18, of Caruthersville, Missouri, who suffered a serious injury.

Phelps and Hilburn were taken to Missouri Delta Medical Center by ambulance for treatment. Neither was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
