An two-vehicle accident tied up traffic at a busy Cape Girardeau intersection Monday afternoon.
The driver of a Chevrolet going west on William Street ran a red light at the Interstate 55 intersection, Cpl. Darin Hickey, public information officer with Cape Girardeau Police Department, wrote in an email.
In doing so, the Chevrolet struck a vehicle that had exited I-55 and was turning left to travel east on William Street.
Both drivers were transported by ambulance to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Hickey wrote.
