ARBYRD - A vehicle left the scene late Friday night after the driver struck and killed a pedestrian on Route 108, one-half mile south of this Dunklin County community.
The Missouri Highway Patrol said Timmy W. Wilson, 32, of Hornersville, was dead on arrival at Methodist Hospital in Paragould, Ark.
According to the patrol, Wilson was walking north on Route 108 when the vehicle struck him and the driver left. The accident happened around 11:55 p.m.
The patrol described the vehicle as a dark blue Ford, model year unknown.
In another area accident, a man died Saturday near Vienna, Ill. when his vehicle left U.S. Route 45 in Johnson County and struck a tree.
The Illinois State Police at Ullin said Ronald Duncan, 49, died on impact.
Duncan was driving his car north on Route 45 when the car crossed the southbound lane, left the road, and struck the tree, police said.
The accident happened at about 8:30 a.m. one-half mile south of Route 146, south of Vienna.
Police said the vehicle was demolished.
