EAST CAPE GIRARDEAU, Ill. -- Two men were injured, one seriously, in a traffic accident early Saturday morning on Route 146 at the Purple Crackle night club, said the Illinois State Police.
One of the victims, Terry King, 33, of Cape Girardeau, was listed in serious but stable condition at Southeast Missouri Hospital Saturday night.
The other victim, Kingsley Mainer, 24, of Murphysboro, was treated and released from Southeast Missouri Hospital for injuries he received in the accident.
According to state police, Mainer's car was westbound on Route 146 and was turning left into the parking lot of the Purple Crackle when King's car struck it in the rear.
The accident occurred at 2:10 a.m., said police.
