Two people were hospitalized with injuries that police said were not life threatening after a traffic collision at the intersection of William Street and Mount Auburn Road on Tuesday afternoon.
About 3:30 p.m., a silver GMC Jimmy was westbound on William Street when it apparently failed to stop at a traffic signal and struck an eastbound Chrysler Concord turning northbound on Mount Auburn Road, said Cape Girardeau police officer David Valentine. The incident remained under investigation Tuesday afternoon.
Ambulances transported two occupants of the Jimmy to Saint Francis Medical Center.
The driver of the Concord was unhurt, Valentine said.
