A man and woman from Perryville, Missouri, are set to be arraigned Friday on robbery and kidnapping charges.
Jeffery Shawn Franks, 29, and Kaitlyn Marie Martin, 24, are accused of committing the acts Sept. 15.
A man held Terry Ervin at the point of a BB gun after Ervin received a call from a woman claiming she was the manager of the MotoMart in Perryville and the gas pumps needed to be fixed at 8:30 p.m. Sept. 15, according to a probable-cause statement from Perryville Police detective Teresa Cox.
Ervin went to perform a repair but was confused when he saw people pumping gas into their vehicles.
The man entered the back of Ervin's vehicle and told him to drive behind a silver 1990s Pontiac driven by a woman. They drove to an ATM, where Ervin was forced to withdraw money and hand it over. Ervin eventually was brought back to his car at Perry County Lake. Evidence at the scene included a black pistol BB gun that looked like a Beretta handgun, Cox wrote.
Perryville police found a silver Grand Am based on surveillance video from the ATM, then talked to Martin, who said she was the only driver of the vehicle, Cox wrote.
Officers matched a number on Ervin's phone to a number Martin said was hers, Cox wrote.
Warrants were issued for Franks and Martin on Sept. 22.
