A day camp for children with diabetes will be held on July 21 and 22 at the Main Street Family Fitness Center and in the Jackson City Park.

Campers will learn from one another about living with diabetes. In addition camp organizers said the youth will have two days of fun.

The Camp Day Break will provide crafts, games and outdoor activities that will help children learn the importance of physical exercise and the role it has in blood glucose levels and treatment of diabetes. Other activities will emphasize other basic components of diabetes management, medication, nutrition and blood glucose monitoring.

Special activities will include a snake show presented by the Missouri Department of Conservation that will spotlight some of Missouri's reptilian residents.
