CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Two people are in critical condition after being shot in a Charleston home Tuesday night.

Charleston Department of Public Safety director Robert Hearnes said in a statement the incident took place about 11 p.m. in the 200 block of Morgan Street. Inside the residence, responding officers found two gunshot victims identified as Shanika Ingram, 38, and De'erick Ingram, 23, both of Charleston.

Both victims are in critical condition and were transported to area hospitals for treatment.

The release states the suspect or suspects walked around the residence, firing multiple rounds through the door and windows. Both victims struck were inside and bullets also traveled into the residence next door. That residence was occupied by a woman and her 2-year-old daughter, who were uninjured.

There are no suspects in custody. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Charleston Department of Public Safety at 573-683-3737.

A reinstatement of a curfew is being considered by the city council if more acts of violence occur, Hearnes said.
