EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Two East Prairie residents have been arrested in connection with a burglary last weekend.
East Prairie police responded to a report of a residential burglary at 213 Cranford St. at 10:26 a.m. Sunday, said chief Danny Lafferty.
The victim said he had received a phone call from a witness who saw two suspicious-looking people entering and leaving the residence. The victim was not home, but his juvenile son was.
Once the victim arrived home, he confirmed his child was not harmed and called the police. Several miscellaneous items were stolen, including a semi-automatic gun, various knives and a laptop.
Through the investigation, two suspects were identified as Thomas E. "Tommy" Reece, 43, and Jamie Reece, 38. Both were found and taken into custody for first-degree burglary.
At the time of their arrest, police found a clear plastic baggie containing 16 Xanax pills packaged in foils, used needles and several other drug paraphernalia.
