BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Stoddard County Sheriff Carl Hefner has reported the discovery of a methamphetamine lab in the Bell City/Advance area, the Daily Statesman newspaper reported.

The bust comes as the result of an ongoing investigation by Deputy Keith Haynes, who is assigned to the SEMO Drug Task Force, and the Stoddard County Sheriff's Department.

Arrested in the investigation were Don St. Cin and Bonnie J. Woods, both of Advance.

According to the probable-cause affidavit filed by Haynes, he, along with Deputy Hank Trout and Advance police, searched the residence of St. Cin and located methamphetamine residue and drug paraphernalia. The report states that Woods was also staying in the house and methamphetamine residue was found in the room occupied by her.

Both subjects are currently charged with the Class C felony of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and the Class A misdemeanor of possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond for both was set at $20,000 cash-only.

A charge of manufacturing methamphetamine is pending on St. Cin along with others as a result of the seizure on Tuesday.

More arrests are expected in the near future.

The subjects appeared in court Thursday for arraignment and due to a conflict of interest with the Public Defender's Office have been scheduled to reappear on July 8 with their attorneys.

Both St. Cin and Woods are currently being held in the Stoddard County Jail.
