Twenty-seven people were arrested Tuesday in connection with a drug roundup executed in association with the SEMO Drug Task Force, Cape Girardeau police said in a news release.
The issuing of warrants and subsequent sweep of arrests are the result of yearlong cooperative investigations targeting the sale of illegal drugs, said Darin Hickey, information officer for the Cape Girardeau Police Department.
Agencies involved in the arrest raids were SEMO Drug Task Force, Cape Girardeau Police Department, Jackson Police Department Cape Girardeau County Sheriff's Office, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Drug Enforcement Administration, the United States Marshal Service and the Scott County Sheriff's Department.
More arrests are pending, Hickey said.
