Historic postcards from the first decade of the century will be on display at the Oliver House Nov. 6.
The postcards, part of the Friends-Bollinger, Heise-Helderman Collection on loan from Southeast Missouri State University Archives/Regional History Collection, will be featured. Postmarked between 1900 and 1910, the penny postcards provide a colorful glimpse into the life, romance, humor and holiday spirits of the early 1900s.
The Oliver House, a nine-room brick Federal style home, is open 1-4:30 p.m. on Sundays. Located at 224 E. Adams, the house has been restored and furnished by the Jackson Heritage Association to represent the late Victorian era when it was the home of State Senator Robert Burett Oliver.
Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children.
