Trinity Lutheran School achieves national accreditation

Trinity Lutheran School in Cape Girardeau was recently awarded accreditation from the National Lutheran School Accreditation Commission.

The school has now received the accreditation three times, something only a handful of Lutheran schools have done. Trinity has an enrollment of 200 students.

Alan Lipke made a presentation announcing the accreditation during a recent worship service at Trinity Lutheran Church. Lipke recognized Terry Fark, the school's principal, and Elizabeth Babchak, last year's principal.

The accreditation process requires work from school administrators, teachers, board members and parents. It includes self-study and identifying areas of strength and areas for improvement. School leaders developed a school improvement plant that will target several goals over the next three to four years.

Trinity Lutheran School is accredited by the Missouri State Non-Public School Accrediting Association, which is part of the National Federation of Non-Public Schools Accrediting Association.
