A Cape Girardeau man connected to a May 30 armed robbery on Broadway continued to plead not guilty and had his trial date set Monday by Circuit Court Judge Benjamin F. Lewis.

Ombra Dockery, 21, with Stephen R. Johnson, allegedly assaulted a man walking on Broadway and stole his wallet and keys.

Dockery's case will be heard before a jury starting Feb. 15.

A probable-cause affidavit filed in the case says Dockery tried to use one of the victim's credit cards at the Cape Girardeau Walmart about 30 minutes after the alleged robbery.

Dockery and Johnson were charged June 1 with first-degree robbery and fraudulent use of a credit device.

According to the affidavit, the victim told police one of the men pressed a gun into his torso and threatened to kill him. The victim suffered an injury to his eye, police wrote in the affidavit.
