OZARK, Mo. -- A Jackson man facing prison time for felony kidnapping charges had his trial set this month by Christian County Circuit Court Judge Mark Orr.

Scott A. Pikey, 39, is charged in the southwest Missouri county for allegedly kidnapping his children from a domestic violence shelter in Ozark in July last year. He's also charged with one count of violating a protection order.

Orr set Pikey's jury trial for July 11 in Christian County.

Authorities allege Pikey followed another car onto the shelter's property and took his children while his former spouse was in the shower. The woman allegedly saw him leave and called in his license plate number to the police.

Pikey was arrested on U.S. 65 in Ozark.

After his trial setting, Pikey was released on bond and ordered to be on house arrest and live with his parents.

The court also recalled a warrant issued for Pikey's arrest in January, after he and his attorney missed a Jan. 7 hearing. Pikey was in custody in Cape Girardeau County for a probation violation and his attorney, Christopher Swatosh, said a circuit clerk didn't receive notification requesting a continuance with the court.
