Those looking to cash in on that 1960s guitar, race coin or Civil War-era sword need look no further than the Treasure Hunters Roadshow.

Free and open to the public, the roadshow kicks off Tuesday at the Holiday Inn Express in Cape Girardeau and runs through Saturday. Hours for the show are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day but Saturday, when the show ends at 4 p.m.

The roadshow last came to Cape Girardeau in December, when it was at the Super 8. Among the items sold then were a chain purse, gold coins and a 1957 Gibson guitar that sold for $17,000.

While the Better Business Bureau did not give the Treasure Hunters Roadway a negative rating, the company in February ran into problems at a show in Safford, Ariz. According to the Eastern Arizona Courier, a man attempted to deposit a check he received on items sold to the touring group.

However, the check bounced because of insufficient funds. The company said that happened because a large gold refinery's deposit failed to clear before the check was deposited.

The same situation happened at shows in Illinois and Michigan last year.

But company officials said the incidents happened because the company expanded too quickly.
