Construction is set to begin next week inside what will be Ultimate Air Trampoline Park, near the Cape Girardeau Regional Airport.

Ultimate Air, an indoor trampoline park based in Jonesboro, Arkansas, purchased an existing 36,000-square-foot building earlier this year at 4240 Nash Road, near Interstate 55 exit 91, co-owner John Caubble said via email Thursday.

Caubble’s brother Buddy, also co-owner of Ultimate Air, told the Southeast Missourian in January the renovations to outfit the building with 12,000 square feet of trampolines and attractions likely would take about three months.

John Caubble said the company’s opening day goal has been moved up from before the year’s end to, hopefully, the end of summer.

The facility, when completed, Buddy Caubble said will be modeled after the existing Jonesboro location, which he said has been very successful since it opened in 2016. Ultimate Air, he said, is more or less like a regular gym but with trampolines instead of a court floor, where patrons pay to jump at an hourly rate.

The Cape Girardeau location will be about 15 percent larger than the Jonesboro park, and will feature areas and activities for patrons of all ages. It also will feature a laser maze and rentable rooms for parties, Caubble said, as well as fitness classes, games and free-jump sessions. Patrons will have the option to rent out the whole facility.

The facility is expected to employ 60 or more people on a mostly part-time basis.

The Cape Girardeau location is one of three the company hopes to open this year, including locations in Oklahoma and Hawaii.
