Nancy Mattingly, cancer program coordinator at Southeast Missouri Hospital's Regional Cancer Center, and Dr. Paul Thompson, medical adviser for the Cape Girardeau unit of American Cancer Society, were among those recognized at the 46th Missouri Division American Cancer Society annual meeting held recently at Jefferson City.
More than 250 volunteers from across Missouri met to discuss plans for the upcoming year and to recognize outstanding volunteer efforts over the past 12 months.
Thompson received the Public Education Program award for his work with the annual prostate cancer screening project held each fall in Cape Girardeau. The award recognizes the impact screenings have on cancer control.
Mattingly, president of the Cape Girardeau unit, also received the Public Education Program award and the Professional Educational Individual Award for excellence in cancer control. The latter salutes Mattingly for her contributions to cancer education. Mattingly was elected chairman of the Missouri Division Service and Rehabilitation Committee.
In addition to her work with the Cape Girardeau unit, Mattingly serves on the Board of Directors of the Missouri Division of the American Cancer Society.

William R. Schott has been inducted into the Management on Accounting Practice Hall of Fame.
Schott received his award during the organization's national conference in Kansas City in recognition of his dedication to accounting and his involvement with the MAP Committee. Schott has been a member of the committee since it was founded 20 years ago.
Schott and Melvin J. Van de Ven, partners in the firm of Schott & Van de Ven Certified Public Accountants, attended the conference, which is sponsored through the Missouri Society of CPAs and its MAP Committee.
The Schott & Van de Ven firm, 1020 N. Kingshighway, employs a staff of 22 and also has offices in Marion, Ill., and Marble Hill. The firm requires all professional staff to attend at least 40 hours of training each year.

Pat Parsons of Jackson, Geneva Brandes of Oak Ridge, and Lora Thompson of Perryville have been honored for outstanding sales performances by the Tupperware Co.
Tupperware, a unit of Premark International Inc. of Deerfield, Ill., markets products under several names such as Tupperware, West Bend, Vulcan and Harto. The Tupperware brand is sold in 50 countries.
Parsons, Brandes and Thompson are independent Tupperware executive managers with the local authorized distributorship, United Party Sales of Scott City.

ANNA, Ill. Jerry L. Reppert, publisher of the Gazette-Democrat newspaper in Anna, has been re-elected president of the Illinois Press Foundation.
Reppert, who has served as president of the foundation since its creation in 1981, was re-elected during the recent annual Illinois Press Association convention at Peoria.
The foundation is a not-for-profit organization that offers education and training to newspapers and their employees throughout the state as well as maintaining a headquarters office in Springfield to lobby for the industry.

Dr. Michael C. Wulfers of Cape Girardeau recently attended the American Academy of Family Physicians Scientific Assembly held in San Diego.
Up-to-date health topics including health care for the homeless, sexual abuse of children and effects of poverty on children were discussed.
The academy, a national association of family doctors representing more than 74,000 physicians and medical students, is headquartered in Kansas City. Members are required to complete 150 hours of continuing medical study every three years.

Richard Morris, account executive for Bankers Systems Inc., has been honored for his sales performance for 1992.
Morris recently was awarded the 1993 sales incentive trip to Marriott Castle Harbour Resort in Bermuda. He qualified for the award by attaining more than $250,000 in sales over a 39-week period. Morris' region with the company covers portions of south-central and all of Southeast Missouri.
Bankers Systems Inc., headquartered at St. Cloud, Minn., provides financial software, products and services to commercial and savings banks.
Morris, his wife, Gail, and sons, Craig, 17, and Keith, 14, reside in Cape Girardeau.
