JACKSON -- Linda R. Hodge of Jackson has been recognized for excellence in safety by CRST Inc., a truckload carrier specializing in rapid, long-haul transit from coast to coast.
Hodge received an award for completing 10 years of accident-free driving with the firm.
CRST, founded in 1955, is headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. It has more than 1,750 drivers who operate company-owned equipment.

Dr. James B. Chapman, a Cape Girardeau cardiologist, was moderator of the PCA Regional Interventional Conference held last week at Deaconess West Medical Center in St. Louis.
The conference was sponsored by St. Louis University Medical Center. Cardiologists from eastern Missouri and western Illinois presented several cases for review.
Chapman is affiliated with Cardiovascular Consultant of Cape Girardeau. He is a member of the medical staffs at Southeast Missouri Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center.

Paul H. Berens of the Cape Girardeau law firm of Finch, Bradshaw, Strom and Steele was featured speaker at a John Deere Co. divisional meeting held recently in Columbus, Ohio.
Divisional managers, litigation administrators and their supervisors, and field representatives from 16 states attended the session.
Berens presented topics relating to commercial law and responsibility and effective bankruptcy response. The format included documentation and testifying in a practice trial setting.

Andrew Leonard, director of the Center for Self Improvement of Cape Girardeau, was recently certified as a clinical hypnotherapist by the American Council of Hypnotist Examiners of Glendale, Calif.
Requirements for the certification include 250 hours instruction in hypnosis form a school approved by the council, written examination and a practical demonstration of hypnosis skills before a board of examiners.
Leonard holds a master of arts degree in physiological counseling from Southeast Missouri State University and a master practitioner certification in neuro linguistic programming.

JACKSON Sheri Dost of Jackson has achieved the position of independent sales director for Mary Kay Cosmetics Inc.
Dost joined Mary Kay in August 1986, as a beauty consultant. As sales director, she will provide training and guidance to other Mary Kay beauty consultants.
She recently attended a weeklong training seminar at Mary Kay's headquarters in Dallas.
Mary Kay, a direct-seller of skin- care products, topped $1 billion in retail sales in 1991.

JACKSON Teresa Meier and Susan Daugherty, secretaries for the Cape Girardeau County University of Missouri Extension Center in Jackson, recently received recognition for outstanding service and achievement during a staff awards ceremony held at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Meier received a plaque and cash award in the part-time secretary award category. She has worked at the Jackson office part-time for 13 years.
Daugherty, who has worked at the office three years, received an award in the two-to-nine years category for secretaries.
