Kenneth Mehrle of Cape Girardeau has been named president of the NARD Foundation headquartered at Alexandria, Va.
Mehrle, a past president of both NARD and the Missouri Pharmaceutical Association, succeeds Frank Lobraico of Indianapolis, Ind., who served as foundation president for 17 years.
"I am pleased to be able to serve the foundation as president," said Mehrle. "This organization has had a positive influence on independent retail pharmacy by helping bring new independents into the marketplace every year through our loan and scholarship programs."
The NARD Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 1953 to provide educational and research support to strengthen patient-care services provided by independent pharmacies and to assist future professionals through the provision of low interest educational loans.
NARD serves pharmacist owners, managers and employees of nearly 40,000 independent pharmacies in the U.S.

Ron Lungwitz of Cape Girardeau, general agent for Franklin Life Insurance Co. of Springfield, Ill., has been named to membership in the 1992 Franklin Million Dollar Conference, the firm's organization of national sales and sales management leaders.
Lungwitz's accomplishments will be recognized during the company's Million Dollar Conference to be held in March at the Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Resort in Cancun.

MARBLE HILL Brenda Bunch, Marble Hill affiliate for United National Real Estate, ranked 11th among the company's offices nationwide in overall sales performance for 1991.
Lois F. Francis, president of the company, announced the national ranking recently.
United National-Marble Hill Real Estate will receive the President's Honor Group Award for sales excellence. The Marble Hill office has also announced five other sales awards for sales production. United National has offices in 43 states.
Bunch, who owns and operates the Marble Hill office, said the national achievement was a "team effort." Sales associates include Joe Willenbring, Frank James and Sharon Woods Hopkins.

PERRYVILLE James F. Kapp, president and director of the Bank of Perryville, recently attended the 83rd Assembly for Bank Directors in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Others attending from the bank included directors Paul E. Dillard and William D. Phillips.
The four-day event was co-sponsored by the Southwestern Graduate School of Banking Foundation and the National Association of Bank Directors.
Topics included strategic planning, different roles of bank directors, future directions for the financial industry, and roles of bankers in the political process.

Several members of the Early Childhood Center staff recently attended CPR and first aid classes.
Receiving certifications were Bernice Burton, Judy Jackson, Debbie Schumer, Jeanette Dohogne, Pat Carter, Jeaneen Craig, Rosalie Brown, Connie Leaton, Georgia McMullen, Rhonda Cuba and Donna Buehrle.
The Early Childhood Center, 1912 Broadway, offers day care programs and preschool classes. Staff members are required by state licensing to complete 12 hours of continuing education programs each year. CPR and first aid classes account for eight hours.
