TRAILER FIRM STARTS OPERATION NEAR SCOTT CITY; SALES, SERVICE OF VANS ALSO OFFERED

G&M Trailers Inc. recently opened at 3255 Outer Road near Scott City.

"We're just off Interstate 55," said Shirley Boham, office secretary.

The firm is a sales and service company for Raven and Transcraft flatbed trailers, and will be handling all types of used trailers and vans.

"We have some `box' rental trailers," said Boham. "We currently have about 25 rental trailers."

Gary W. Metje is owner of the company. He has a number of years of experience in trailer sales, having formerly been with Harris Truck and Trailer for 25 years as a salesman.

Lynn Byrd, outside salesman for the firm, has 30 years of experience in sales. He was also employed by Harris, which ceased operations last year.

Boham was formerly employed by Sam Tanksley Inc. for 18 years, holding various positions in the personnel department.

The company is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
