The Jackson Board of Aldermen passed 18 ordinances dealing with traffic upgrades Monday night.

The action was made possible by two years' worth of work by Capt. Bob Bonney of the police department, public works director Rodney Bollinger and city attorney Tom Ludwig.

Ludwig said the new traffic schedule simply replaces the out of date ordinances that may have included no-parking designations or stop signs that no longer exist.

The ordinances covered everything from truck routes to U-turns to speed limits to handicap parking.

The traffic schedules had not been updated since 1985.
