Changes in traffic patterns and parking will be implemented during the SEMO District Fair parade on Monday, Cape Girardeau police said.
No parking signs will be placed on Caruthers between Broadway and Independence at 3 p.m. on Monday to restrict parking. These signs will be enforced beginning at 3:30 p.m. Any vehicle left there at that time will be towed at the owners expense, and a traffic ticket will be issued.
The parade begins at 5:30 p.m. at Caruthers and Thilenius. Anyone needing to drop off parade participants may do so at the intersection of Clark and Cordelia.
Caruthers between Broadway and Thilenius, Cordelia between Clark and Broadway, and Thilenius between Cordelia and Caruthers will be closed beginning at 3:30 p.m. Only vehicles used in the parade will be allowed inside this area.
The parade will travel south on Caruthers to Independence, then travel west on Independence to Broadview, then from Broadview to Spartech where it will turn west into Arena Park.
Southbound traffic on Kingshighway will be detoured west onto Hopper, south onto Mt. Auburn and then east onto William during the parade.
Northbound traffic on Kingshighway will be detoured west onto William, then north onto Mt. Auburn during the parade.
