Six-year-old Travis likes wrestling, tractors and race cars so those items made the top of his wish list this Christmas.

But his parents cannot afford the gifts unless they get help from Toybox.

Toybox is a joint program of the Cape Girardeau Jaycees and the Southeast Missourian that helps provide Christmas gifts to needy children up to age 12.

Travis also likes Bob the Builder and would like a Lite Brite and Operation game.

His brother, 11, prefers race tracks, model cars and wrestling figures. He also likes finger bikes and hand-held electronic toys. He also asked for a Connect Four game.

The children are only two of nearly 400 whose families have asked for help this holiday season. But in order to fill all the requests, Toybox needs more donations.

Board games, books and puzzles, art supplies, hand-held electronic games, infant and toddler toys, Barbies, balls, Legos and blocks and sports equipment always make good gift suggestions.

Donations of new, unused toys are being collected at Southeast Missourian offices in Cape Girardeau and Jackson, AAA Travel Agency, First National Bank, First Missouri State Bank, Bank of America, Sanders True Value, Bank of Missouri, Capaha Bank, Cingular Wireless, Union Planters Bank, Alliance Bank, Toys R Us, Commerce Bank, Westfield Shoppingtown West Park, U.S. Bank and Wehrenberg Theatres.

Tax-deductible contributions can be mailed to Toybox Trust at P.O. Box 4, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63702-0004.
