TRACTOR-CAR ACCIDENT KILLS ONE NEAR DELTA

One man was killed and at least one other person was injured Saturday about 5:30 p.m. in a tractor-car accident three miles south of Delta on Highway 25.

The identities of the dead and the injured weren't released by the Missouri State Highway Patrol late Saturday evening.

A patrolman on the scene said a southbound car attempted to pass one of two large farm tractors pulling chisel plows when a northbound car approached. The southbound car attempted to return to the right lane but hit the chisel plow, he said.

The dead man was in the southbound car. Which vehicle the injured person occupied wasn't immediately clear.
