Several schools in Cape Girardeau recently received a special safety equipment pack from Post M of the Travelers Protective Association of America.
Receiving the pack, which includes rain ponchos, helmets, vests, flags and poles, at a total cost of $485, were Charles B. Clippard, May Greene, Franklin, Alma Schrader, Washington, L.J. Schultz and Jefferson schools.
The safety equipment packs are among several safety projects sponsored by Post M. Others include gun-safety, driver's-safety and home-safety programs.
Travelers Protective Association is a national, non-profit fraternal beneficiary association of salesmen, businessmen and professional men, with more than 210,500 members nationwide and more than 17,000 members in Missouri.
The organization was founded in 1890.
