No car, no job, no toys
Mom has no job because she has no car and no day care. She gets her diapers from a community service group. This single mom asks for a children's piano, toys that make music and toys that have wheels. She has a 1- and 2-year-old who are active and love music. Bring new toys to any of the Toybox locations, including the Southeast Missourian. Or you can make a monetary donation to Toybox, P.O. Box 4, Cape Girardeau, Mo., 63702. For all of our needy Toybox families here are some popular requests: board games, race cars, trucks, dolls, learning toys, puzzles, books, Hannah Montana, Spider-Man, balls, drawing materials, Dora Explorer, Indiana Jones and High School Musical items.
Elderly man asks for items to stay warm
Mr. A has emphysema and other health concerns and is unable to get out of the house. He and his wife live on a fixed income in their own home, and medical and household expenses leave no money for basic needs, not to mention Christmas presents. Mr. A would appreciate a set of queen-size flannel sheets, shirts in size large, jeans with a 32 waist, medium long johns and a Wal-Mart gift card for something special for Christmas dinner. Items for Mr. A or personal grooming and cleaning supplies and grocery gift cards for other needy elderly people can be delivered to the Southeast Missourian. Or make a monetary donation to Christmas for the Elderly, P.O. Box 4, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63702. All elderly served are living independently on limited incomes with few, if any, family members.
