The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for all of Southeast Missouri and parts of Southern Illinois this afternoon, meaning conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes. The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for all of Southeast Missouri and parts of Southern Illinois until 8 p.m., meaning conditions are favorable for the development of severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes.

In Illinois, Alexander and Union counties are among the counties under the watch.
