KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- A top official in City Manager Wayne Cauthen's office is under investigation following accusations that she kept and sent sexually explicit e-mails.
Kansas City's internal auditor is looking into e-mail records of Assistant City Manager LaTrisha Underhill.
The Kansas City Star reported Thursday that records obtained under the state's Sunshine Act show that about 30 e-mails are the focus of the investigation.
They included jokes showing images of nude women and men. One also appeared to have been created by Underhill and then sent to other e-mail addresses.
Underhill acknowledged that she forwarded some of the e-mails, and she apologized to the citizens of Kansas City and city employees.
But she also said she believes she was singled out and treated unfairly.
