An 18-piece jazz band will perform at the Cape Girardeau Municipal Band Concert tonight.
The free concert begins at 8 at the Capaha Park bandshell.
The band, under the direction of Jon Kent Fisher, is presenting its seventh concert of the 1991 season.
The jazz band will perform several big-band selections in the middle of the concert.
The celebrity guest conductor this week is Harry Rediger, manager of the JCPenney store. Rediger will conduct "On the Mall" march.
The concert also features a trumpet solo by Mark Fulgham, music faculty member and trumpet instructor at Southeast Missouri State University. Fulgham will perform Rafael Mendez's "La Virgin de La Macarena" with band accompaniment.
Other selections on the program include: "Montmartre March," "Variations On a Mighty Fortress Is Our God," "Music of the Beatles," and selections from the Broadway musical "West Side Story."
Spectators are asked to bring a lawn chair.
