TODAY'S LEUKEMIA CELEBRITY WAITER EVENT IS POSTPONED

The Leukemia Society of America's Celebrity Waiter luncheon, which had been scheduled for today, is postponed.

Michael Burroughs of the Leukemia Society said the event will be rescheduled. A planning meeting is set for November to investigate a new time for the luncheon.

"This was a bad time for many people in Cape Girardeau," Burroughs said.

"With the election and (Southeast Missouri State University) homecoming, people were just very busy. They indicated they were interested in the Leukemia Society, but this was just a bad time."
