Three treated at Lorimier Street fire

Three residents at 316 S. Lorimier St. were treated for smoke inhalation after Cape Girardeau firefighters responded to reports of a fire at that address.

The fire was quickly extinquished. A neighbor, Matthew Reynolds, said that the residents were using a small space heater that likely ignited a nearby pile of clothing.

There was little damage to the structure of the home.
