Starz on the Rise, an independent theater troupe, is extending its production of "Godspell." There will be three additional performances Sept. 11, 12 and 18. Mike Dumey, the choir director at Cape Girardeau Junior High School, started the group this summer.

The show opened Aug. 21 with a cast of 10, including high school and college students.

The dinner theater will be at the Plaza Conference Center at 6:30 p.m.

Dumey said he was surprised by the positive community response. He said he is considering another show next summer, but it will depend on finding additional sponsorships.

"That's what it will hinge on at this point, but I think the appetite is there," he said.

Ticket information is available at 334-7602.
